Where Your Garden Grows (Release Date: 07/21/09) Canadian songstress and slide guitarist Rachelle van Zanten is set to release her album Where your Garden Grows on July 21, 2009. The upcoming rock album was recorded with producer Joby Baker (Cowboy Junkies, Alex Cuba, Mae Moore) and world-renowned sound engineer, Tchad Blake (Sheryl Crow, Paul Simon, Tom Waits, Los Lobos, Pearl Jam). Rachelle has shared the stage with artists Feist, Blue Rodeo, Clarence Gatemouth Brown and Garth Hudson; and has supported International acts that include the Indigo Girls, Eagle Eye Cherry and Dar Williams. Rachelle’s recent tour schedule took her through Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, India and Nepal. Rachelle van Zanten has a strong diverse vocal performance on this guitar centric blues inspired folk rock album. Rachelle also plays the guitar amazingly, which is prominently showcased throughout the album, especially strong and powerful during the first minute and a half of the track Black Horse. The track Halo is the focus track/lead single for the album’s release (you can listen to the track on the left) and it’s a great choice given it’s upbeat catchy arrangements and energetic instrumentation. Overall a very good album worth some recognition and support (translates into BUY IT!). Rachelle also puts a lot of time and energy into producing Western Canada’s Rocker Girl Camp, a motivational camp for girls aged 10-16. |
