As an artist, I commonly cop this term when describing my music. But even as an “indie” artist, I have a difficult time describing what that means. I suppose I’ve come to see it as an evolving genre, filled with artists who don’t necessarily fit the conventional modes of jazz, country, folk, rock, blues, etc. Indie music is an intriguing blend of many of these styles, creating an interesting concoction of something completely new and different. |
